ALT Updates From April

Volunteers tallied hours 473

The ALT grew to 315.7 miles

After several meetings with various land managers, we received approval for the NEW Marlinton Reroute.  

Several dedicated  volunteers below helped blaze the new route and decommission the old.

Section 1 and 2 “Spring the Trail” work

The ALT team “Trail Kitchen Magicians” won the “Best Chili Spirit” and 1st place for category “Culinary Twist” at the Durbin Chili Cook-Off. This team also donated $100 back to the non-profit Durbin Days Committee.

ALT will be tabling and sponsoring the 5K at Cheat Fest

The Ultra- Marathon Race “WV Trail Fest” comes back May 22,23 at Snowshoe- Part of the 50K and 100K races are on the ALT and we help run a hydration station for them.

Section 3 Annual “Bear Crawl” Work Event

Upcoming Events On the ALT

We have a brand new partnership with Experienced Learning and will be collaborating on a backpacking trip for high schoolers on the Allegheny Trail in July.

This exciting NEW partnership will result in a documentary along the ALT about changing rural economies across West Virginia.
