Cheat Canyon is a 10-mile railroad grade trail featuring views of the Cheat River, Cheat Canyon, and a variety of unique geologic formations along the route. Located within a West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Wildlife Management Area, hikers may encounter a wide range of wildlife and should remain aware of active hunting seasons throughout the year.
This one-way hike has no egress points and includes a challenging water crossing at Gibson Run. Cell service is limited throughout the canyon.
