About Glenna
I serve as the Section 3 Coordinator for the Allegheny Trail, a role I assumed in summer 2025 after four years of dedicated volunteer work with the trail. I am also a biology professor at Fairmont State University, where I share my passion for science and the natural world with my students.
Volunteering has become an important part of my life, as it allows me to support others in safely experiencing the outdoors and enjoying the natural beauty the trail has to offer. I am passionate about hiking and backpacking, and I spend much of my free time on the trail with my husband, Jack, and our two daughters. As a family, we value outdoor exploration and the sense of connection it brings.
Beyond local trails, Jack and I have pursued high-altitude adventures together, including summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro and reaching 6,000 meters on Mt. Aconcagua. Through my role as Section 3 Coordinator, I am committed to maintaining safe, accessible trail conditions and fostering a positive experience for all who venture onto the Allegheny Trail.
